P1 started for DS

Time flies.... It has been 1 month since DS started P1 life...
So far think it's still a very interesting experience for him...

From the first time he gets on a school bus that's full of strangers, to the first time he 'owns' a wallet with real money inside...first time buying food..... so many first for him....

He was so excited when he learn how to cheer for his class/school..... with claps...

He was so proud to have scored 10/10 for his first spelling test in P1...but was so dejected when he scored 4/10 for his han yu pin yin spelling due to some careless mistakes... well..... i hope he won't take it so hard on himself...as there will definitely be more hurdles for him to cross in future... :)

So far, he has lost his wallet once...and got it back from his teacher 1 day later after some kind sole found and returned it....lost his water bottle yesterday.... (hope he can get it back today..).... he looked so poor thing when he told me about his 'loss'...and see how his eyes brighten with the news that he got his things back.... so cute... :)

Well...all I want to say is...Son, hope you can stay happy and excited about the new journey that you've just started...ALL the BEST, SON!!! Love you so much..!!

P1 registration !!

Wow...didn't know that P1 registration could be so exciting....

Registered DS on 29 July for Phase 2C (Witin 1km)... was told the number of applicants has exceeded the number of allocated place.... :s..... Balloting will be on 11 August, 9am....
Result : 97 registration for 91 places...:s....

11 August :
8.55am : Reached the school... illegally parked on the yellow line somemore :p
9.00am : Went into the school hall, and see tons of parents. Signed in beside DS name and sit down.
9.05am : Principal gave speech. Principal informed that there is a pair of twins, and if they are successful in balloting, they will take up 2 places...
9.15am : Parents took the name slips and passed to teachers-in-charge to be folder and placed into transparent fishbowl.
9.20am : Balloting starts......
9.25am : ...Ng Jordan... !!! Yeah!! (One of the longest 5 mins for me.. :p)
9.30am : Confirm the names on the board... Yes! iT'S THERE!

What 'exciting' half an hour i have this morning.....

Ha..ha...ha.....

I've booked an Iphone..... White, 32gb :D

Will collect this Friday....I'm so excited..!!! Yeah...!!!

I WANT THE IPHONE 3G S !!!

终于让我等到了..... Apple has finally unveiled the new Iphone 3G S :D
....luckily hubby didn't buy the old Iphone 3G...if not sure bang head on wall :p

But it'll only be available in Singapore in July....arrrrgh...1 more mth to go...:S

Hopefully pricing will not be cracy as think it will go under the red umbrella again...arrrgh..no competition ......

now very 'gian'....dunno whether in one month's time, this 'gian' feeling will subside or not... hopefully it will not be another case of N95 story... :p

Feng Shui Class

Hee...Hee...

I have finally started to do something that i've wanted to do for a looooong time.
i.e. take up Feng Shui Course :)

Class was held in SP, with Master Vincent Koh, held in conjunction with Singapore Feng Shui Centre.

Historically, i was always a 'back-bencher' :p.
But...for this course, i actually choose to seat in front right from the first lesson :D
And luckily enough, for ease of recognising us, Master Koh requested that each should stick to his or her own seat for every other lesson...so heng arh....dun need to go early every class to 'chop' front seat :)

The topics so far include the brief history of fengshui, plotting bithechart of property, Bazi, etc...
So far so good.... but the recent topic Bazi really make me see star... must work hard to understand and apply...

Also, for the recent presentation that our small group did on flying stars fengshui, i am glad that Master Koh actually made the comment "Got potential".... hopefully he meant it in the positive way... 加油... :D

Time Flies...

Wow.... I almost didn't realize that i haven been writing anything here for a month liao :p

So what hv been happening lately....

went to IT Show 2009 today.... haiz.... 空手而归...crowd was crazy though.... spent about 15 mins juz to look for a lot to park...and i was there half an hr before it opens.... really got many many free pple (including me ... :P) here.... Dun need to work meh... ??? :s

Went for lunch yesterday with Li Yean for meet up after her long break home from Shanghai.
The place we went to serves really good food :D
莆田（兴化）菜馆. It was a recommendation from Radio 1003 :)
Also, got 4 free tickets to watch 熊猫回家路, which will be screened next Tuesday. As it's free seating, think hv to go real early to 'grab' good seats (i'm singaporean mah...)....

Cases of H1N1 increase to 24 cases liao...but property market still going strong leh....
...sob...sob...when can i afford to buy a house。。。。。 sob......sob.....

《天冷就回来》 - 观后感

我终在星期二看了让新加坡骄傲的华语音乐剧《天冷就回来》。。。。。 觉得那是一出非常好的舞台剧，非常喜欢。好像让我回到中学时代。。。 梁文福的词像散文，也像小小说，也像对话，不同的拼凑就产生不同的故事、不同的解读。演员们也演得，唱得非常好。特别喜欢的是董姿彦。。。 非常好嗓音。。。 让我好陶醉。。。
看完音乐剧后，那些歌还在脑里钻来钻去。。。 真是太享受了。。。

我想，如果两年后会重演，我一定会‘逼’老公一起去：）

Back from 'Long' Trip

oh...it's almost end of April and i was reminded by Mr Mok that i have not update my blog for quite some time liao :p

I spent my first 2 weeks of April in US...yes...this is one location that i've planned to visit since many years ago.... finally, 1 wish close... :) Visited LV, SF and LA this time....

Hmm..... loved Grand Canyon and Yosemite park... really beautiful... I even see real snow at Grand Canyon....it was freezing cold and we were not prepared as the snow fall was unexpected...grr.... Luckily after snow/fog clear for a while, we were still able to see most of the canyon...how to describe....非常壮观.... I was speechless standing at Angel's Lodge, overlooking the GrandCanyon.... For Yosemite...the 4 hrs bus trip 1 way from SF was worth it... This national park has the world's 5th highest waterfall.... a beautiful river was running along most of the way that our bus took from the entrance of the park.... plain beautiful..... and with the very good weather...it was a waste that we did not manage to stay longer or cycle to cover more of the park..:s...

As for LV, well, it's a typical 赌城... there're casinos in almost all building. Loved the musical fountain at The Bellagio... Oh yes...enjoyed shopping at the 2 shopping outlets, although we controlled purchasing as we are not too sure of luggage weigh limit for domestic flight. Finally we spent most of our money in LA factory outlet as that was our last stop of the trip :p

I was very dissapointed with Universal studio in LA..it was much smaller than what i expected..and i think most of the 'attractions' are not really up-to-date....the whole place looked very tired.... really regretted not going to Disneyland instead...

For SF, the place we stayed is practically a tourist area...and due to warnings that streets are not very safe especially after dark, we didn't really wander too far away from the beach/wharf area.... the dungress crab was good though it's expensive....cost about USD30 per crab :p

After this trip, both hubby and me are really broke liao...have to save money......

New Toy !

i'm so excited with my new toy.....

Bought a netbook last week at IT show...

Cost me S$699 => 10.1" screen, 2gb ram, 250gb memory, 6 cell batt, mouse, speaker, earpiece, bag.... think it was a good deal.

Hopefully i will update my facebook and blog more often, and add in more features...

The other day my son told me "Mommy, although you always scold me, but I still love you..."

Wow.....can't help but hug him after that.....

I love him so much too... :)

Change.....

Yes...... I am greatly affected by the demise of our friend...

It has also triggered a lot of thinking about pple around me, and somehow it has changed the way i perceive certain things in life...

I have gladly taken things for granted very often...especially of the pple around me...

Like...hubby will always be there to support me...
...kids will always be around...
... MIL will always be glad to take care of the kids when me n hubby is not available...
...parents will always be there...especially during weekends when we have our weekly family gathering....
...jobs/income will be there.....

These days...i hug my kids more often...less scolding too i guess....
I have more patience with hubby......less fussy with how MIL do things around the hse....
Help around more in parents' hse on weekends...
I hope to be able to get around to contact more old friends rather than getting updates thru facebook :p

I am beginning to think seriously about the question : "If I know that THE DAY will come soon, what would i do....."
Insurance? Education? Financial security for the family..... lots of lots of items.....

I also hope that I will have the same strength Yanmei has when the day come.......

Today is Valentine's Day...... it's also the day I lost a friend, Mr Wong Teck Chin....

Wong was once my 'small' boss...somekind of leader in our small drafting team....
That was > 10 years ago...

We got married on the same day 10 years ago and our colleagues were so torn as they cannot decide whose wedding to attend.....
We even went for our honeymoon together to Australia....that was fun....
We also say 10 years later we should go for our 2nd honeymooon together...but that day will never come now.... :'(

I will always remember him as someone who is intelligent, brave, fun, positive, understanding...and so much more.......yes...sacastic at times too :p....

Like what Yanmei has say....these are things that is beyond our control....and I hope and pray for the best for his Wife and 2 little girls...

May You Rest in Peace......

HDB

Very frustrated that we cannot buy new HDB.....due to the stupid ceiling stuff...

The income ceiling has been there for almost 14 years liao!!!!
What are all these govt/HDB pple doing???
Cost of public housing has increased by so much since 14 years ago...

Couple earning S$8000 and less can afford to finance a flat that is costing around S$700,000 meh???? Unless they have very good papa bank or mama bank to help.....

Pple like us in the middle income group is like 不上不下... cannot buy new flat, and cannot afford pre-owned flat due to the very high price above valuation.... unless we want to settle for those ulu ulu 鸟不生蛋 area like Juring extension, etc...arrrrgh.....

And the govt was assuming that we should be able to buy pte housing...which has total area of 98m2, and is selling at 1 million dollars...arrrgh......

为什么不让我们中多多....... arrrgh.......

Think is the the general feelings of the middle income family..... :'(

Here's wishing everybody a Happy 牛 Year!

Today is the first day of work for me after CNY, and chu8 is supposed to be a good day to start work...

Was reading in the newspaper this morning, which mentioned that the last time market situation was bad was in 1997...12 years ago......and was also supposed to be a Happy 牛 Year!

This 牛 year started off with various companies across the world announcing retrenchment, brankrupcy, and Qimonda has also announce for insolvency..which has turned in bankruptcy too today.....

According to the astrology book that i bought, this is supposed to be a good year for me...and that i'll travel a lot this year. If this is true, then i'm really looking for ward to it....but that would also means that there'll be a big hole in my pcoket.....

My DS and DD are supposed to 犯太岁 this year.... hopefully the year won't be too bad for them this year....

Well....I can only hope for the best for everybody, to have good health, and be 开开心心 this year..

HUAT AH!! .... aka.... 发啊!

Mini Me

Was looking at the photos of my little girl tat i took when i let her try on the new dress tat the wife of a nice colleague made.....

...so pretty... :D

...general feedback from the others are " Oh....mini Mommy....."

It's really wonder how one person can look so much like another.....genes...

Thinking back....that was the same remark we heard when we put DH's photo beside DS's photo :)....We have fair genes :)...DD look like Mommy, DS look like daddy....

HAppy New YEar! It's 2009!!

So....i've started my year lazing around at home.. :p

No need to go back to office yet due to shutdown :s

.....arrrgh..... din want to face the tons of clothes that is piling up in the carboard....

as expected...after the long holiday, DD refuse to go to school, and make a scene outside the school screaming.. 'I want to go homeeeee......'
DS seems to have gotten used to go to school...hee.....

This year, i've signed up GUG for DD....but think she felt quite bored on the first lesson as i think she may be one of the older kids in the class :p ... let's see how she'll behave next week....

also...hopefully DS has come to terms that he'll need to attend the class at ICR..... with or without tears :p.... but he was doing quite well yesterday, and even say that the teacher praise him for good reading...hope that will keep him motivated to attend the classes....

I am now thinking if i should also sign him up with Kumon for maths....arrrgh......i've become a kiasu mum... :(

It's Moving Day!!

So....today is THE day that i'll move...

Have already moved 4 small A4 size boxes over this morning...

Think will have 7 more to go...:p
Think the security guards must be wondering why is tis woman driving in and out of the building so many times today :p

Well, the items were accumulated over 15.5 years!!! Think tat it's already quite impressive that I was able to 'squeeze' them into 11 small boxes...:p

....well.....i am feeling really down today..... so will move really really slow...... :D

Last Working Week in 168

This is my last working week in the office building that I have been reporting diligently for the past 15 and a half years....

I will be reporting to the HQ buiilding starting from next year....

...hmm...... somehow i felt quite loss today... :(
...it's like i'm starting to miss the feeling of coming into this building.....

Looking Back 2008

So we're coming to the end of year 2008...let's look back and see what i can say....

Few items/events that are significant to me are :

Jordan :
Think he has become more matured
I felt bad for neglecting him sometime. :p
He has improved alot in terms of words recognition, both for Mandarin and English
He started to attend I Can Read and Kindergolf
Bought him a junior golf set for xmax tis year...hope his interest can maintain :)
His caring character is also more obvious now :)
Tat day, his grany was having kneecap ache, and when he saw that she has difficulty walking, he immediately went over to help her....how heart warming ... :)

Jaelyn :
Attended Playgroup in August...and follow by many days of MC and small incidents, .... trap her fingers in shower screen, knock her head on wall corner, pnuemoia and hospitalization.... HFMD last week....overall..think this is not a good health year for her....hope will be better next year.....
Daddy dress her up with superman pyjamas, and she started to pose some typical poses for us...so cute...
I wonder if we are sometimes more bias towards her than Kor Kor :p

Swtich Job again : From Pioneer to Christie
Overall better pay, but I think he's not as happy as he was in Pioneer, due, i think, to the more family oriented atmosphere in pioneer....
Bought a putter for dear hubby as Xmas present :)

Saddess events : Li Yean leaving IFX, SIN; Bemmer leaving IFX; CAM breakups; Dad's health issue
Mixed feelings about joining MC, and moving out offically of 168 Kallang Way, after 15 years, 6 months :'(
Overwhelm by China Olympic Opening Ceremony (中国人，真行！） - although it was immediately followed by news of lip sync, pre-recorded images, etc....

I've completed 14.5 hrs as parent volunteer in SAJS...but think we'll send the kids to Hong Wen Primary instead :p

New Year Resolution :
Spent more time with Jordan
Toilet train Jaelyn
Work to improve relationship with family :))

Wat i look forward to next year :
- LV trip
- Germany trip
- hope to go to Japan again :p
